LG releases new 14-inch laptops with Intel Panther Lake

Over a month has passed since LG released the Gram 14 with AMD Gorgon Point processors. For the time being, the company has not started offering these laptops in other markets yet. Instead, it has expanded the Gram 14 range with Intel Panther Lake alternatives.
For context, LG equipped last year's Gram 14 with Arrow Lake-H options like the Core Ultra 5 225H (curr. $1,129 on Amazon). This year, the company has opted for the Core Ultra 5 325 and Core Ultra 7 355, a pair of 8-core processors that offer broadly the same performance as each other. While more efficient than the Core Ultra 5 225H, these Panther Lake parts fall short of their Arrow Lake-H predecessor in most benchmarks.
Setting that aside, these new Panther Lake variants match their Gorgon Point counterparts with 60 Hz and 1200p IPS displays that peak at just 350 nits. Also, all SKUs weigh around 1.12 kg despite containing 72 Wh batteries. The entire Gram 14 range measures 312 x 214 x 15.7 mm, too.
However, these newer Panther Lake alternatives add Thunderbolt 4 connectivity. On top of that, LG rates them for 3 hours longer battery than their Gorgon Point alternatives. LG's Panther Lake range starts at JPY 289,801 (~$1,809) with a Core Ultra 5 325 and rises to JPY 359,800 (~$2,247) for a Core Ultra 7 355 variant featuring 32 GB RAM and 512 GB of storage. LG is yet to confirm pricing or availability for other markets.
