LG releases new 17-inch laptop with Intel Panther Lake and 32 GB RAM

Almost three months have passed since LG unveiled a suite of Gram Pro laptops. Showcased in January during CES 2026, the latest Gram Pro series was said to consist of multiple sizes. Shortly afterwards, LG released cheaper Gram 14 laptops in Japan featuring AMD Gorgon Point processors.
Now, it has expanded upon those options with the Gram Pro 17 (17Z90U). Weighing in at just 1.38 kg, the Gram 17 is less than 150 g heavier than Apple's tiny MacBook Neo (curr. $599 on Amazon). Nonetheless, the 17-inch laptop features a 77 Wh battery that LG rates for up to 17.5 hours of video playback between charges. The new Gram 17 also features a 2.5K IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio.
Unfortunately, this panel continues to top out at 60 Hz and 350 nits with a 1,200:1 contrast ratio. Also, LG equips the new Gram Pro 17 with either the Core Ultra 5 325 or the Core Ultra 7 355 rather than Ultra X alternatives like the smaller Gram Pro 16. Moreover, LG limits the Gram Pro 17 to 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB of storage.
The Gram Pro 17 starts at JPY 349,800 (~$2,189) with the Core Ultra 5 325,16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD. Alternatively, a Core Ultra 7 355 model can be picked up with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage for JPY 376,300 (~$2,355) in Japan and CNY 13,999 (~$2,025) in China. LG has not confirmed when the Gram Pro 17 will be available in other markets yet, though.
