GDC 2026 | Razer shadow drops new 2026 Blade 16 with 60 percent longer battery life and even faster graphics

While barely a year old, the fully redesigned Blade 16 is getting an update this year with brand new configurations to complement the existing AMD options. More specifically, the 2026 Blade 16 is swapping out the Ryzen AI 9 in favor of the Intel Core Ultra 9 296H.
The straightforward processor swap is expected to bring significant improvements as one of the biggest advantages of Panther Lake is its increased efficiency. Razer says battery life in particular can be up to 60 percent longer than last year's AMD options without needing to sacrifice performance. In fact, the Intel CPU carries more cores and integrates faster LPDDR5X-9600 memory than the AMD Zen 5 variant for better performance overall.
The CPU efficiency gains has allowed for a small bump in GPU TGP from 160 W to 165 W which, while minor, is certainly welcomed given how tight the thermal budget can be for the ultrathin Blade 16 design.
Beyond performance, Razer has also increased the maximum brightness of the display by 100 nits to satisfy TrueBlackHDR1000 requirements. Connectivity features like Thunderbolt 5 and Bluetooth 6 are now innately supported whereas these were unavailable on the older AMD-based options.
The Panther Lake Blade 16 is now available for pre-order starting at $3000 for the base RTX 5070 Ti configuration up to $5000 for the ultimate RTX 5090 configuration. All Intel SKUs carry the same aforementioned Core Ultra 9 CPU and 240 Hz OLED display with unfortunately no color options other than the usual black.
