Panther Lake-powered Xiaomi Book Pro 14 teased with MacBook Pro M5-beating battery life

The refreshed Xiaomi Book Pro 14 was recently showcased as a new thin and light Panther Lake laptop. With a new teaser, the company is now making a direct comparison with the MacBook Pro M5.
In the teaser, the company claims that the Xiaomi Book Pro 14 with Panther Lake can beat the Apple MacBook Pro M5 (16/512GB curr. $1,399.99 on Amazon) in on-battery streaming and online meeting runtimes. The brand further claims that the Panther Lake laptop can offer up to 19.8 hours of local 1080p video playback, which is a praiseworthy runtime for a laptop that weighs only 1.08kg.
Xiaomi further shares that the Panther Lake Book Pro 14 features a 72Wh battery with an energy density of up to 800Wh/L. The laptop is also confirmed to come with a 100W GaN fast charger, which is said to recharge the battery fast.
In addition to the battery life details, Xiaomi has shared some key design details. The laptop features a magnesium alloy chassis with a skin-friendly molecular coating, said to be smooth and wear-resistant. To keep the overall weight low, the brand says that it has opted for lightweight yet sturdy materials.
The bottom cover, for example, is said to be of carbon fiber, which is 40% lighter than regular aluminum alloy. Another notable aspect is that the keyboard support plate is said to be made of titanium alloy, which is 44% lighter than stainless steel plates found on regular laptops.
For those who missed it, the company recently shared that the Xiaomi Book Pro 14 can be configured with up to Intel Core Ultra X7 358H, a performance-focused option from the Panther Lake lineup. A Core Ultra 5 325H configuration was also spotted on Geekbench. There's no official word about the release date yet, but the company has teased that the Chinese launch is around the corner.
