Critically acclaimed tactical shooter sees 370% surge in players following update

Critically acclaimed FPS Ready or Not has received a new update alongside a DLC, triggering a massive 370% jump in concurrent player count. Steam concurrent player peaks went from roughly 8,000 before the discount to 37,600.
Ready or Not is a tactical first-person shooter developed by Void Interactive. Here, players command an LSPD SWAT team responding to high-risk incidents in the fictional city of Los Sueños. The game emphasizes pre-mission planning via a tactical tablet, strict rules of engagement, and a balance of lethal and less-lethal force.
Ready or Not launched in full on December 13, 2023, after an Early Access period that began in December 2021.
The Boiling Point update, released on March 12, 2026, consists of a paid DLC priced at $9.99 and a free patch available to all base-game owners. The DLC adds three new missions set during city-wide riots following a terrorist attack by the Mariposa Lily Organization: No Good Deed, All Gods Burn, and A New America. It also introduces new weapons (G18-C pistol, S2011 pistol, and RTWC-6.5 battle rifle), the 9-Bang less-lethal grenade, an attachment overhaul featuring multi-rail systems and variable-magnification optics, lethal gas hazards, and close-quarters battle suspect types.
The free patch includes the same weapons and attachments for all players, along with improved CS gas, shield mechanics, quality-of-life changes, and performance fixes. A subsequent hotfix (1.4.2) addressed launch issues.
Review-wise, Ready or Not has received over 318,000 reviews on Steam, with 77% of these reviews being positive. It is currently on sale at $24.99, representing a 50% drop from the regular price of $44.99.
