Fortnite is back on Google Play for Android users worldwide

Fortnite is once again available on Google Play worldwide, with Epic officially confirming the Android return on March 19, 2026. In its announcement, Epic says the relisting arrives alongside the launch of a new Battle Royale season, giving Android users a more direct way to install the game through Google’s default app marketplace.
Epic’s official post says players can now download Fortnite on Google Play and jump into the new season with friends on Android. The company is also using the relaunch to promote its Invite a Friend feature, which it says can help players level up and unlock the new Yeddy Outfit.
Epic pairs the Play Store return with mobile-focused additions
The Google Play comeback is not the only mobile hook in Epic’s announcement. The company also highlights Marvel | Blitz matches with refreshed loot, including Captain America’s Shield, and says Fortnite Festival Main Stage now supports portrait mode on mobile. According to Epic, the portrait layout lets players tap directly on the note highway and adds haptic feedback during play.
Epic also says players can get 20% back in Epic Rewards when they use Epic’s own payment system for purchases. That option is currently available on Google Play in the United States. Epic says the same payment method is available globally on iOS, the web, and PC through the Epic Games Store. The company adds that it is still working to bring that payment option to Google Play in more markets.
Fortnite returns after years away from the Play Store
Fortnite had been absent from Google Play since 2020, when Epic introduced a direct payment system that violated Google Play policies and led to the game’s removal from the store. Android users could still access the title through other methods, but not as a standard Google Play download. The March 19 relisting changes restore direct Play Store distribution for Android users worldwide.
