Chrome Dev 148 for Android rolls out on Google Play

A new Chrome Dev update is rolling out through Google Play, taking the Android browser to version 148.0.7739.3. Google confirmed the release on March 19, 2026, in a post via its official Chrome Releases blog. The announcement is short and only confirms the new Dev-channel build for Android, without listing a full breakdown of fixes or feature changes.
Google keeps the official release note brief
As with many Chrome Dev posts, Google does not provide a detailed changelog in the release note itself. Instead, the company directs readers to broader Chromium resources, including project logs and developer documentation, for a broader view of ongoing work across the browser.
That means the main confirmed detail here is the rollout itself: Chrome Dev 148.0.7739.3 is now available for Android users on the Dev track.
Chrome 148 remains in Google’s testing pipeline
This is the second Chrome Dev 148 update for Android, released in March. Google previously pushed Chrome Dev 148.0.7728.3 on March 12, making build 148.0.7739.3 the newest update in the same pre-release branch.
Chrome Dev is the development channel ahead of the stable version of the browser and is primarily intended for testing upcoming changes before they move further through Google’s release cycle. Google’s public Chrome tracking also shows that the stable channel remains on an earlier milestone, so Chrome 148 is still part of the company’s forward testing branch on Android.
