Deal | $1.99, 97% positive reviews: Legendary indie game hits lowest-ever price on Steam

Developed by the Swedish indie studio Landfall Games, Totally Accurate Battle Simulator (TABS) is a physics-based battle simulator in which players command armies of low-poly ragdoll units with googly eyes. The units tumble and react according to the game’s physics engine, producing unpredictable outcomes during battles.
The game entered Early Access on April 1, 2019, and reached version 1.0 on April 1, 2021. Gameplay centers on placing units on a battlefield within a budget limit, then starting a simulation and observing the results. Players can pause, rewind, use slow motion, or possess individual units in first- or third-person view.
TABS includes 12 story-based campaigns with about 200 levels across themed settings such as Tribal, Viking, Pirate, Dynasty, Renaissance, Wild West, Spooky, and Fantasy. It features Sandbox mode, where there are no unit limits, and also has online and local PvP modes.
The base game contains 139 units divided among over 14 factions, each with distinct melee, ranged, heavy, and special abilities. Additional content is available through an in-game Unit Creator, Map Creator, and the Steam Workshop, where players share custom units, maps, factions, and full campaigns.
While Totally Accurate Battle Simulator is praised today for its fun physics, recent reviews on Steam indicate the game doesn't run on some systems because of "some Unity error."
Five years after the full release, Totally Accurate Battle Simulator has sold millions of copies, receiving about 145,500 reviews on Steam (97% positive). TABS is currently available at its lowest recorded price: $1.99, down from the regular price of $19.99.
