Lenovo releases new 15-inch gaming laptop in North America with 165 Hz OLED display

Lenovo has finally released the Legion 5a Gen 11 in North America. To recap, the company announced new Legion 5a laptops in January during CES 2026 alongside Intel Panther Lake-powered equivalents. Shortly afterwards, the Legion 5a Gen 11 reached Europe to replace last year's Gen 10 models (curr. $1,139 on Amazon).
While the Legion 5a maintains an 80 Wh battery, its weight has dropped by 50 g to 1.88 kg. Additionally, Lenovo continues to include a 15.3-inch and 16:10 display. An OLED panel, the display combines a 165 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response times with a 2,560 x 1,600-pixel resolution across all SKUs.
The Legion 5a Gen 11 starts with a Ryzen 7 250 APU from AMD's Hawk Point family for $1,529 in the US and CAD 2,219 in Canada. This price also includes an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 with 16 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM, a 512 GB SSD and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity. A GeForce RTX 5060 can be optioned though, as can 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.
Meanwhile, AMD Gorgon Point variants start at $1,639 and CAD 2,274, respectively, with the Ryzen AI 7 450, GeForce RTX 5060, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Alternatively, Lenovo offers configurations up to and including the Ryzen AI 9 465, 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage for $1,996 and CAD 2,729.
