Razer unveils the Atlas Pro, an ultra-thin glass mouse mat to enhance gaming mice
Glass mouse mats have a loyal following from gamers who value speed above all else. They also have some durability advantages over cheaper cloth surfaces. With the new Razer Atlas Pro, the manufacturer has further slimmed down the gaming mouse companion. At 1.9 mm, it advertises the accessory as the thinnest glass mouse mat on the market.
For $129.99, the Razer Atlas Pro is available to order now from the company’s store and Amazon. Buyers can choose between black and white colorways.
Razer points out the ergonomic benefits of its alternative to fabric mouse pads. Assuming a setup has a correctly positioned chair and desk, there is less strain when reaching for gaming mice. Rounded edges should limit the discomfort when wrists collide with the sides of the accessory.
At 500 x 400 mm, the Atlas Pro offers more tracking area than its predecessor. The reduced thickness of 1.9 mm is another significant change, with competitors averaging around 3 mm. To promote stability, the rubber base supporting the tempered surface glass measures 1.1 mm.
Are glass mouse mats for everyone?
The goal of a glass mouse mat is to eliminate the resistance experienced with cloth pads.
