The new Razer Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz contenders rely on familiar analog optical technology. Still, the higher polling rate and calibrated switches aim to lower already rock-bottom response times. Available in different form factors and colors, the wired Razer keyboards are even more customizable.

Designed for esports competitors, the Huntsman gaming keyboard lineup prioritizes speed and precision. With the upgraded Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz models, Razer hopes to set new performance benchmarks. While the 8000Hz polling rate takes center stage, Notebookcheck’s Huntsman V3 Pro TKL 8KHz review found other minor but consequential upgrades.

Available now at Razer and select retailers, the wired keyboards ship in various configurations and colors. The black full-size version has an MSRP of $249.99/€279.99. With a TKL layout, the black Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz costs $219.99/€249.99. Only sold in tenkeyless form, the white colorway is $229.99/€259.99, while the Esports Green Edition is $249.99/€269.99.

The new Razer keyboards once again rely on the brand’s second-generation analog optical switches. At an 8000Hz polling rate, the manufacturer quotes a 0.58 ms response time to keypresses. That mark would be nearly three times faster than the Huntsman V3 Pro evaluated by Notebookcheck in 2024.

Hands-on testing of the TKL model confirmed that it reacts to a feather touch. However, with an actuation range of 0.1mm to 4mm, higher settings make it more practical for productivity tasks. Gamers can also adjust other options, like Snap Tap and Rapid Trigger, without needing Synapse 4. The right side of the wired keyboard features remappable media controls and several LED indicators.

More changes to the Huntsman V3 Pro

Other upgrades to the Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz are less exciting, but address criticisms of its predecessor. Razer has added another layer of sound-absorbing foam to quiet the clatter of furious typing. Sadly, the detachable magnetic wrist rest still isn’t plush despite a rather high asking price.

With the same analog optical switches, buyers won’t have the hot-swappable options found in the mechanical BlackWidow V4 family. Hall effect supporters may also disagree with Razer’s stance against magnetic switches. Nevertheless, the Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz gaming keyboards are already endorsed by esports celebrities like Nico.
