Razer has announced that it has released a potentially game-changing feature for FPS games with the latest version of its Synapse feature-management software. Accordingly, Snap Tap is now available on more of the OEM's keyboards, not to mention all Blade-series laptops capable of supporting the new update.

Snap Tap is rated to let a player change directions with one WASD key without having to release the other, thereby improving the chances that the impulses of their reflexes are transmitted to their avatar in the form of maneuvers such as counter-strafing.

Razer touts the feature as a more fluid and intuitive way of executing such moves, particularly in first-person shooter (FPS)-type games.

Snap Tap has heretofore been available on the Huntsman V3 Pro series of keyboards, but is now available on others such as the Blackwidow V4 Pro (now $229.99 on Amazon) with the release of Synapse 4.

Accordingly, those who own compatible Razer laptops - the latest Raptor Lake-based Blade 18 and 16 included - should also be able to activate Snap Tap following this update. It should be possible to toggle it on and off by hitting Fn and the left shift key together mid-game.

Snap Tap applies to a single pair of keys (A and D, for example) at a time, which can be configured in the Synapse 4 UI.
