The latest Razer gaming laptop is now purchasable. While not the most portable option, the Blade 18 is an alternative to hauling around a desktop PC. The Razer laptop features a high-end Intel Arrow Lake-HX CPU, RTX 50-series GPUs, and is inviting to upgrades.

Razer Blade laptops appeal to gamers with powerful GPUs and high refresh-rate displays. However, the 2025 Blade 18 may be just as capable for productivity thanks to its versatile screen and ample connectivity. The newest Razer laptop is now available on the manufacturer's website and physical storefronts. Its flexibility comes at a steep cost, with models starting at $3,499.99.

While the 2025 Blade 16 employs AMD Ryzen AI CPUs, the Blade 18 relies on an Intel Core i9-275HX processor. Razer claims the machine is its most powerful laptop yet, with a 280-watt TPP (Total Package Power). Reviews will judge how that impacts its 99 WHr lithium-ion polymer battery. The Blade 18 welcomes an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU, with the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 as less expensive choices.

Many high-end laptops claim to replace desktop setups with large footprints. However, owners may find themselves relying on USB-C docks to complete projects. The Blade 18 aims to bridge the gap between form factors with some unique capabilities. Users can switch between a UHD+ (3840x2400) resolution at 240Hz and an FHD+ (1920x1200) setting at 440Hz. The 18-inch dual-mode display maximizes viewing space or caters to competitive gamers, but is an IPS panel rather than OLED.

The Razer Blade 18 is well-stocked with ports and includes single Thunderbolt 5 and Thunderbolt 4 connections. Buyers will also find six THX spatial audio-compatible speakers, reducing the need for external options. The larger gaming laptop is more accommodating to upgrades than the Blade 16. The Blade 18 ships with either 32GB or 64GB of DDR5 memory, but owners can add RAM for a maximum of 96 GB at 5600Hz. Likewise, storage is expandable to 8TB with a Gen4 PCIe M.2 NVMe or 4TB with faster Gen5 drives.

The power of the new 7.06 lb Razer laptop may slightly limit its portability. High-end configurations exceeding $5,000 result in a thicker and heavier notebook than the 2024 model. Still, Razer hopes that its desktop-like advantages will compensate for any minor inconvenience.
