Razer unveils Project Motoko: A display-free AR headset for AI interaction and training

Razer has announced the Project Motoko audio headset for daily users and trainers of AI.

The device can be thought of as an AR headset without a display. It comes with two cameras so the AI can see everything the user sees in real-time and answer questions about the world around the wearer. Project Motoko can be used with a variety of AI, including Gemini, Grok, and OpenAI.

The user can speak to the AI using the built-in microphones, and the near-field and far-field microphones allow the AI to hear speech and sounds clearly from all around. The AI replies through the over-ear headphone speakers. A Snapdragon SoC powers the unit, allowing for unspecified onboard AI and XR capabilities. 

Besides using the headset to answer questions in daily life, such as summarizing text in view or answering questions about objects, Project Motoko can also be used for humanoid training. The cameras are set near eye level to replicate closely what the wearer sees, allowing a humanoid to learn to replicate actions accurately like a human.
