Minisforum has updated the MS-02 Ultra with a new processor option, roughly six weeks after releasing the mini workstation globally. Initially, the company offered the MS-02 Ultra with the Core Ultra 5 235HX, Core Ultra 7 255HX and Core Ultra 9 285HX processors from Intel's Arrow Lake-HX series (curr. $1,499.90 on Amazon).
For CES 2026, Minisforum has updated the MS-02 Ultra to take advantage of the unreleased Core Ultra 9 295HX. Currently, Intel has not publicly acknowledged the processor's existence. Likewise, Minisforum is being rather coy about what changes Intel has made from the existing Core Ultra 9 285HX.
However, past performance indicates that the Core Ultra 9 295HX is a member of Intel's forthcoming Arrow Lake HX Refresh series. Not present during CES 2026, Arrow Lake HX-R remains something of an unknown quantity for now. Presumably, the Core Ultra 9 295HX will receive a clock speed boost over the Core Ultra 9 285HX at the very least.
Minisforum has not listed the new MS-02 Ultra on its store yet, either. Most other features of the original model return, including dual USB4 V2 ports and a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for GPU expansion. For some reason, the 25 Gbps Ethernet from the Core Ultra 9 285HX variant is missing for the MS-02 Ultra's Core Ultra 9 295HX refresh, though.
