MSI brought numerous new devices to CES 2026 this week, including a new version of the Claw 8 AI Plus with an apparent M.2 2280 slot. Additionally, the company has presented a new AI-branded mini-PC following last year's introduction of the Nvidia DGX Spark-based EdgeXpert AI.
MSI has not confirmed pricing or availability yet. Instead, the company has focused on hardware, which centres around AMD's Strix Halo platform. If the GMKtec EVO-X2 (curr. $1,659 on Amazon) and other Strix Halo mini-PCs are anything to go by, then AI Edge should be significantly cheaper than its EdgeXpert AI counterpart, which carries a $2,999 MSRP.
The MSI AI Edge will be available with up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM, of which 96 GB will be assignable to the mini-PC's Radeon 8060S iGPU. So far, MSI has outlined that its 4-litre mini-PC will feature the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 too. However, we would not rule out cheaper Ryzen AI Max APU options being available as well, given the timing of the AI Edge's introduction alongside AMD's recent Strix Halo expansion.
Moreover, MSI boasts that the AI Edge can output at 15 Tokens per second (TPS) when running up to 120 B LLMs. For the most part, this is thanks to the mini-PC's XDNA 2 NPU, which delivers 50 TOPS of theoretical performance. Unfortunately, further details about the AI Edge remain unknown for now.
