Minisforum has launched a new AMD Gorgon Point-powered mini-PC. The Minisforum AI X1 Pro is a refreshed version of the Strix Point variant launched last year. The new AI X1 Pro uses AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 APU with a 12-core CPU and a Radeon 890M iGPU that can power up to four 4K displays simultaneously.
Users can configure it with up to 128 GB of DDR5-5600 memory via two SO-DIMM slots, and depending on the model, you can get up to three M.2 2280 slots for 12 TB of storage. The AI X1 Pro comes with plenty of I/O, such as two USB 4.0 ports, an Oculink port to add an external GPU dock, a DP 2.0 port, an HDMI 2.1 port, two 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports, a 3.5 mm combo audio jack, three USB-A ports, and an SD card reader.
Wireless connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7. Minisforum has also included a fingerprint reader for biometric authentication and a dedicated Copilot button, because why not? Unlike its predecessor, which came with a bulky power brick, the X1 Pro uses just one cable that plugs directly into a wall socket.
At the time of writing, the new Minisforum AI X1 Pro does not have a price or release date, with the company stating the mini-PC will be available worldwide ‘soon’.
