AMD Ryzen AI 400 Gorgon Point tipped for a desktop launch soon

AMD’s Gorgon Point line of laptop APUs won’t just power laptops in 2026. Apparently, AMD plans to bring it to desktops, too. The information comes from Videocardz and Moore’s Law is Dead, who shared the information independently within three days of each other. It shows a video clip of what appears to be a Ryzen AI Pro chip on a desktop motherboard, with the title explicitly stating it is a Gorgon Point SKU.
Exactly which Gorgon Point models will get ported over remains to be seen. Additionally, the ‘Pro’ moniker tacitly implies that only chips with that specific branding might make it to the desktop. It is worth noting that AMD has yet to release Ryzen AI Pro 400 series chips for laptops. Usually, they arrive a few months after their non-Pro counterparts, and this time, AMD might bring them to desktops before laptops.
Moore’s Law is Dead adds Gorgon Point desktop SKUs could arrive as early as Q1, 2026, implying that AMD could show them off as early as next month. Videocardz, on the other hand, says an announcement is unlikely till Q2. Either way, a bunch of low-power AMD chips will hit the market in 2026, an otherwise dry year for the AM5 platform.
