Earlier today, we reported that Asus had quietly started selling its first AMD Strix Halo-powered gaming laptop in multiple countries. Joined by the new ProArt PX13 in China, the TUF Gaming A14 FA401EA has also reached Japan and parts of Europe. Arguably, Asus pairing a Ryzen AI Max+ 392 APU and its Radeon 8060S iGPU with 64 GB of RAM is a more attention-grabbing configuration than recent TUF Gaming A14 releases.
However, the FA401EA is not the only new TUF Gaming A14 that Asus has launched this year. Instead, the company quietly announced a Ryzen AI 9 465 and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 laptop variant too, under the model number FA401GM. Theoretically, this CPU and GPU combination would put the FA401GM between the combined performance of last year's FA401KM and the FA401WV that preceded it (curr. $1,349.99 on Amazon). Now, Asus China has offered an insight into how much the FA401GM will cost.
Specifically, Asus has priced the TUF Gaming A14 FA401GM at CNY 13,999 (~$2,008) with 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. With that being said, a launch discount drops the price to CNY 10,699 (~$1,534) for the laptop's Moonlight Silver variant and CNY 10,999 (~$1,577) for its Eclipse Grey counterpart. In comparison, last year's model started for CNY 9,499 (~$1,362). Thus, we would expect the FA401GM to reach other markets for a $100-$200 uplift over its predecessor when it goes on sale.
