Yesterday, Asus confirmed that it had brought AMD's Strix Halo platform to the TUF Gaming A14. The Taiwanese brand's cheaper alternative to the ROG Zephyrus 14, the TUF Gaming A14 can currently be configured with up to a Ryzen AI 7 350 and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU (curr. $1,749 on Amazon). While Asus teased that it had developed two versions of the TUF Gaming A14 (2026), only the Strix Halo variant was detailed before yesterday's launch event.
With the dust having now settled on its CES 2026 extravaganza, Asus has listed its promised second TUF Gaming A14 (2026) laptop on its global website with AMD's new Gorgon Point architecture and Nvidia's familiar GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU. Distinguished from its Strix Halo counterpart (FA401EA) by its FA401GM model number, this second TUF Gaming A14 (2026) variant utilises the Ryzen AI 9 465 with up to 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.
Fundamentally, the main difference between the Ryzen AI 9 365 and the Ryzen AI 9 465 is the adoption of 8,533 MT/s rather than 7,500 MT/s RAM. Elsewhere, the TUF Gaming A14 (2026) FA401GM cuts a familiar figure with a 73 Wh battery, a 2.5K and 165 Hz IPS display and dual M.2 2280 slots. Availability remains unknown for now, although Asus will undoubtedly position the FA401GM as a cheaper alternative to the FA401EA, just like the FA401UH and FA401KM before them.
