The dust has now settled on the launch of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in Xiaomi's home market. Currently, we await confirmation of the flagship's global arrival, which would be the company's first high-end international smartphone release since the Xiaomi 15T Pro in September (curr. $819.99 on Amazon).
However, Xiaomi has switched focus to teasing its next Redmi Turbo smartphone. Previously, there had been suggestions that Xiaomi would follow up the Redmi Turbo 4 and Redmi Turbo 4 Pro with the Redmi Turbo 5. Now, the company has confirmed that the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is next in line; we would not rule out more Redmi Turbo 5 series models also being in development, though.
So far, Xiaomi has not committed to a specific launch date. Instead, it has hinted that the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is 'coming this month'. Additionally, the company has confirmed the device will retail for less than CNY 2,500 (~$357), which will be joined by a 'performance breakthrough' and 'max battery life' to create 'flagship quality and experience'. Based on recent rumours, these will take the shape of a circa 9,000 mAh battery and a Dimensity 9 series chipset.
