CES is upon us and the tech giants are showing off their latest and greatest hardware. Samsung is also present at the show floor and it may have just given the public a glimpse of its next foldable, a crease-less flagship that will bring in a new era of folding smartphones. The company has not shared any information on when the next generation foldable will hit the market, or if it even is truly the next Z Fold phone.
As reported by Sammobile via Max Jambor from the CES 2026 show floor, Samsung seems to have a prototype foldable on display that looks very much like the current gen flagship foldable, but with one glaring difference. The kiosk has two phones in their open (unfolded) position, with the one on the left seemingly the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the one on the right, an unknown device with the same form factor.
The phone on the right is placed under the “Advanced Crease-less” branding and doesn’t seem to have the very apparent crease typical for current gen foldables in the middle. The short clip shared by Max on X that's embedded above shows a subtle bend in the center of the display, visible as the light reflection angle changes, but otherwise seems quite smooth. This is believed to be the display that Samsung will be using in the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
It has been known that Samsung is developing this new folding OLED technology for Apple’s first foldable as well, so it is likely that the Apple device will also feature the same display, though in a different size and aspect ratio. As for release dates, a new Samsung foldable is expected to arrive in July this year while the Apple foldable could make an appearance a bit later, but likely within 2026.
