Samsung One UI 9: New feature for Android 17-based update leaked

One UI 8.5 is currently in the beta stage and available for the Galaxy S25 lineup. The stable version is expected to debut with the Galaxy S26 series and subsequently roll out to compatible devices. A new leak has now surfaced about the next major update: One UI 9.
According to a report by SammyGuru, leaked builds of One UI 9 point to new additions to Samsung Internet. The browser is said to have a new compact search bar in a floating layout positioned near the bottom of the screen. It includes options like search, AI access, recent tabs, and a menu.
A notable leaked feature is "Ask AI," which allows users to ask questions about the currently open webpage, without requiring manual text copying into a chat interface. The source suggests that the feature processes page content as well as browsing history to provide personalized answers to user queries. It also gives users the option to store conversations for up to 6 months or not store them beyond the current session.
For now, there is no concrete release timeline for One UI 9. However, it may launch with the successors to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (curr. $1,649 on Amazon) and Z Flip 7, which are expected to be released in September. In separate news, a regulatory body has certified the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37, suggesting an imminent launch.
