Samsung moves to prevent leaks for Galaxy S27 lineup

By summer 2025, it became abundantly clear what improvements Samsung had in store for the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s cameras – and what it did not. Everything revealed up to that point, along with leaks from just days ago, proved accurate, even if individual details surfaced later. For outsiders, it may not always be clear how leakers such as Ice Universe often know months ahead of launch what Samsung is quietly planning for the next generation of Galaxy flagships. According to the Korea Herald, however, Samsung is now working to stamp out internal leaks.
The outlet reports that Samsung introduced a new secure chat mode in its internal communications system, which apparently also involves affiliated companies. Once this mode is enabled, employees cannot copy, forward, save or screenshot their chats. These measures are intended to prevent management’s internal memos and similar documents from ending up on anonymous platforms, where they can be picked up by leakers and the media.
We’ll be able to observe the effectiveness of this measure over the coming months, as Galaxy S27-related leaks are expected to intensify. Early information about the successor to the Galaxy S26 already emerged weeks ago, for instance regarding camera upgrades for the Ultra model. Ironically, details on this secure chat mode originated from a leak. Samsung has yet to release an official statement on the matter. It is probably impossible to fully prevent leaks, especially given much information comes from suppliers or retailers. Furthermore, internal chats can still be captured using a second camera.
