Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra: leak reveals higher battery capacity

The compact Samsung Galaxy S26 ($939 on Amazon) has to make do with a battery capacity of just 4,300 mAh, while the larger Galaxy S26 Ultra features a 5,000 mAh battery. As a result, Samsung is no longer competitive in an era of Chinese flagship phones, some of which offer battery capacities exceeding 7,000 mAh.

After rumors had already suggested that at least some models in the Galaxy S27 series would be equipped with advanced silicon batteries offering higher energy density, GalaxyClub was able to uncover the reportedly final battery capacities of the two most expensive models. According to this information, the relatively compact Galaxy S27 Pro has a battery with an actual capacity of 5,028 mAh, which is likely to be marketed as having a typical capacity of around 5,200 mAh. The Galaxy S27 Ultra, on the other hand, is said to be equipped with a 5,534 mAh battery, which Samsung is likely to market as having a typical capacity of 5,700 to 5,800 mAh.

Details on the battery capacity of the Galaxy S27 and the Galaxy S27+ are still pending. The Galaxy S27 Pro and the Galaxy S27 Ultra are also expected to receive upgrades to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, an improved 16-megapixel selfie camera with a potentially square sensor, and a new 50-megapixel telephoto camera. All four models are expected to support the Privacy Display, a feature already seen on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy S27 series is expected to launch in early 2027.
