Bluefox Aura A1 compact smartphone gets delayed

Earlier this month, Aiphor, the manufacturer of the Bluefox smartphone line, began accepting pre-orders for its new smartphone, the Bluefox Aura A1. Now, an official report from the manufacturer says the phone has been delayed.

The pre-order page for the Bluefox Aura A1 states the phone is expected to launch in June or July, and begin to ship shortly after the launch. The page even says the estimated shipping date is between June and July. With only a day left before July ends and with the phone yet to launch, Aiphor has definitely missed the shipping window. However, it seems the reason behind the delay isn't entirely the manufacturer's fault.

According to a press release, the Bluefox Aura A1 is yet to launch due to a delay in the review process for the China Compulsory Certificate a.k.a. 3C certification. The 3C certification is mandatory for products sold in China, and without it, a device can't be released.

Aiphor's memo says the review period for products has been significantly extended due to an increase in the number of products that need to be certified. As a result, it has been forced to postpone the launch of the smartphone. No new date has been revealed yet, but Aiphor says once the review process is finished, the Bluefox Aura A1 will be launched, and shipping will begin.

The Bluefox Aura A1 is a compact Android smartphone with a 4.7-inch 90Hz display. It is powered by the Helio G100 and has up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There's a single 64MP camera on the back and a 16MP camera on the front. The phone also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, an IR blaster, dual SIM support, and a microSD card slot. It also packs a 3,500mAh battery that charges at up to 18W.

When it launches, it will be available in Black, Pink, and White. Aiphor hasn't revealed how much it will cost, but those who pre-order now and pay the $30 refundable deposit will pay a lower full price. They will also receive a free screen replacement, free gifts, and priority shipping.
