Realme set to launch new affordable smartphone next week with 7,000 mAh battery

Realme has officially confirmed the launch of its latest Realme 16x smartphone in India. Speaking more precisely, the budget 5G smartphone is all set to launch on 12th August in the Indian market. Ahead of the launch, Realme has already revealed key features of its upcoming budget smartphone via its official website. 

The official listing suggests that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has opted for a mid-range MediaTek processor. To be more precise, the handset will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor paired with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. It’s unclear whether the phone supports storage expansion or not. What we know is that it will come with a 5300 mm² vapor chamber for cooling. Plus the brand claims it’s the segment's first smartphone with the largest vapor chamber. 

Realme hasn’t revealed the exact display size of the 16x, but the official listing reveals that the panel supports a 144 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. As for photography, you get a dual real camera setup, consisting of a 50 MP primary camera and an unknown sensor. The camera unit is accompanied by an LED flash and an RGB light ring. 

As for the battery, the smartphone features a large 7,000 mAh battery with 45 W wired charging support (EcoFlow 45 W USB-C charger curr. at $19.99 on Amazon). The device will run Android 16-based out of the box. Interestingly, Realme is said to provide two major OS updates and three years of security patches for its upcoming 5G smartphone. 

As for price, there’s no word on it yet at the time of writing. More details, including the official pricing and few other specifications, are expected to be revealed at the launch event. The phone will be available in endurance brown and glory white color options.
