Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, S27 Pro certification reveals 60W charging speeds

Samsung's next-generation flagship smartphones are already making their way through regulatory bodies, with the latest filings confirming what to expect regarding charging speeds. According to a new 3C certification database listing, Samsung is maintaining the 60W fast-charging ceiling introduced with the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The more surprising detail hidden within the certification is the apparent expansion of Samsung's flagship lineup. The regulatory filings explicitly list two distinct high-end devices: the SM-S9580, which reliably corresponds to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, and the SM-S9570.
Based on recent GSMA IMEI database leaks, that second model number points to a brand-new Galaxy S27 Pro variant. Creating a new premium option that sits between the Plus and the Ultra marks the very first time Samsung has utilized the "Pro" moniker within its mainline S-series, suggesting a direct push to compete with Apple's segmented Pro and Pro Max release strategy.
Both the S27 Ultra and the heavily rumored S27 Pro have been certified for the same maximum 60W wired charging speed. While 60W is a step up from the stubborn 45W limit Samsung clung to for years, it still lags behind rivals like the OnePlus 15T and the just announced POCO F9 Ultra, both of which push 100W fast charging. Unsurprisingly, the certification documentation also confirms that Samsung will continue omitting a charging brick from the retail packaging, including only a standard USB-C cable in the box.
These two premium models join the base Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus, which cleared the same 3C platform with recycled 25W and 45W charging speeds, respectively. The entire four-device family has now successfully passed Chinese regulatory hurdles much earlier in the production cycle than usual.
Clearing regulatory approvals this early strongly indicates that Samsung will likely pull its next major Unpacked event forward, placing the Galaxy S27 launch window squarely in early January 2027.
