SmallRig launches power banks that bolt straight onto your camera rig

Powering a mirrorless camera rig on the go usually involves either buying incredibly expensive specialized cinema batteries or haphazardly strapping a standard consumer power bank to a tripod using gaffer tape.
SmallRig is looking to bridge that annoying gap with its newly announced Nano Power Bank Series. The new lineup combines the compact footprint of an everyday charger with the modular mounting solutions working videographers and photographers actually need on set.
The $59 Nano 36 power bank serves as the lightweight, highly mobile option. It packs a 10,000mAh (36.5Wh) capacity into a chassis weighing just 292 grams. Performance-wise, it supports up to 30W charging input and a 45W maximum power output. Creators running heavier setups will naturally gravitate toward the $80 Nano 72.
This larger model doubles the internal capacity to 20,000mAh (73Wh) and pushes both input and output speeds to a blazing 100W, making it robust enough to power demanding equipment like cinema cameras or laptops. It also supports faster top-ups, capable of reaching a full recharge in roughly one hour and 22 minutes.
Both units feature an integrated, retractable 67-centimeter USB-C cable alongside secondary USB-C and USB-A ports, allowing the batteries to supply energy to up to three devices simultaneously. This built-in cable management system effectively eliminates the need to pack and untangle extra wires during a hectic shoot.
What truly separates these batteries from standard consumer charging bricks is the built-in hardware ecosystem. Each Nano power bank is equipped with a standard 1/4"-20 threaded hole on the back and comes with a detachable metal V-mount plate.
This allows the batteries to securely lock onto camera cages, light stands, gimbals, and tripods without the messy, unstable workarounds that plague traditional chargers. To handle the rigors of field production, the chassis is wrapped in a drop-resistant TPU coating, and the ports are protected by silicone weather-sealing covers.
SmallRig also integrated a sharp TFT color display on the front panel of both models. Rather than relying on vague blinking LED dots, users can instantly check precise battery percentages, live power input and output wattages, temperature levels, battery health, and cycle counts.
