Nokia 300 Charge launches with flashlight and built-in power bank
With the Nokia 300 Charge, HMD Global is introducing one of its most unusual feature phones, as the device is marketed as having a built-in power bank. The removable battery has a capacity of 3,700 mAh – small by smartphone standards, but more than twice as large as that of most feature phones.
This battery is said to provide a standby time of over 40 days and a talk time of 37.9 hours. The phone can be charged via USB-C at up to 10 watts. A special feature is the power bank mode, which allows you to charge devices such as headphones, gamepads, or smartphones via the Nokia 300 Charge’s USB-C port at up to 10 watts. Another standout feature is the LED flashlight on the top of the device, which is said to be four times brighter than that of the Nokia 105 ($59 on Amazon).
The rest of the specs are typical for HMD’s current feature phones. The Nokia 300 Charge features a Unisoc SC6531E ARM chip, paired with 4 MB of RAM and 4 MB of flash memory, which can be expanded by up to 32 GB via a microSD card. This storage can be used, among other things, for music, which can also be listened to via wired headphones connected to the 3.5 mm AUX jack. The 2.4-inch display, just like the rear camera, has a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The phone is 1.5 centimeters thick and weighs 138 grams.
Pricing and availability
The Nokia 300 Charge is already listed on HMD Global’s international website, though no pricing information is available yet. In the Philippines, the feature phone costs PHP 1,990 ($32).
