Honor Play 20A packs secondary display into affordable mid-range smartphone

Secondary displays in a smartphone’s camera module are not a new idea, flagship models such as the Xiaomi 17 Pro already feature a screen on the back. What sets the Honor Play 20A apart is that Honor has incorporated a secondary display into an affordable mid-range smartphone. This gives the device a modern look, though the notch and the wide bezel below the screen are clear indications of its affordable price.

The secondary display not only allows users to take selfies with the 13-megapixel main camera but can also show the time, photos, incoming calls, and the currently playing music. The second "camera" on the back is purely decorative. The rest of the specs, however, are relatively basic, as Honor includes a 5-megapixel front camera and a 6.9-inch display based on a 90 Hz IPS panel. At least Honor includes a relatively large 6,000 mAh battery that can be charged via USB-C at 15 watts.
