Nothing OS 5.0 based on Android 17 is coming soon to Nothing Phone (3) and other devices

In addition to the update to Android 17, Nothing OS 5.0 promises performance improvements, revamped AI tools, and a fundamentally improved design. Nothing is revamping the typography, icons, materials, and animations, while spacing and layouts across various apps are being standardized to make the system settings, among other apps, more intuitive.

The camera app is designed to be easier to use thanks to new animations and icons, while links remain in a fixed position on the screen when scanning QR codes to make it easier to open them. The Gallery will gain new options for filtering and sorting photos. The lock screen and home screen will feature additional customization options and widgets that are transparent, with their colors automatically matching the wallpaper.
 

The new Nothing Glyph app brings together features such as ringtones, schedules, and sounds in one place, rather than scattering them across multiple locations in the system settings. According to Nothing, the update improves performance, resulting in faster app launches, smoother scrolling, and more efficient multitasking. Nothing OS 5.0 separates notifications and quick settings, similar to what you see on the Apple iPhone. An overview of all the new features is available in the video embedded below.
