Huge Nothing Headphone 1 Pro leak reveals Metropolis Studios tuning

Nothing’s over-ear headphone range is still relatively young. The company entered the over-ear market in July 2025 with the €299 Headphone (1), combining its transparent design language with physical controls and audio tuned alongside KEF. It later expanded the range with the cheaper €159 Headphone (a) in March 2026, giving buyers a more affordable alternative to the original model. Rather than moving straight to a second generation with a Headphone (2), Nothing now appears to be preparing a more powerful and advanced model that would sit above its existing headphones and will give the compan,y a proper premium option.

The biggest upgrade could be a completely redesigned audio system. Dealabs reports that the Headphone (1) Pro will use triple-driver arrangement, with separate drivers handling different parts of the sound, including bass and treble. The treble will reportedly be handled by an XMEMS driver, while Metropolis Studios, one of London’s leading recording and mastering studios, is said to be involved in tuning the headphones. Hi-Res Audio certification and LDAC support are also expected, along with high-quality playback through both wired and wireless connections.

Nothing may also offer more control over how the headphones sound. The reported features include a Flat EQ, studio-style sound adjustments and spatial audio with head tracking. Noise cancellation is also expected to receive an upgrade, with 10 microphones supporting an adaptive ANC system that responds to surrounding noise in real time. A transparency mode will allow outside sound through when users need to hear what is happening around them.

Battery life is listed at up to 60 hours, with fast charging also included, although the report does not say whether it is measured with ANC on or off. Connectivity could include Bluetooth 6.1 support, USB-C audio and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The headphones will reportedly use an aluminium shell with scratch-resistant glass, carry an IP52 rating against dust and water splashes, and come with a hard carrying case instead of the softer pouch supplied with the Headphone (1).

The Nothing Headphone (1) Pro is expected to arrive in black and white, could launch for €349 in Europe and $399 in the US. At that price, it would cost $100 more than the original Headphone (1), placing it firmly in premium headphone territory. Its release is reportedly planned for September 29, although a date for the official announcement has not been revealed yet. Nothing has not confirmed the headphones, so the specifications and pricing could still change.
