Spotify users affected by new bugs

Spotify users are currently unable to follow or unfollow other accounts on the platform, according to widespread reports. Affected users describe tapping the follow button and seeing it correctly switch to "Following," only for the follower count to stay unchanged and the button to revert back to "Follow" once the page refreshes, which suggests the action isn't actually being saved on Spotify's end.
A second, related problem is also affecting the platform: users attempting to block or unblock other accounts are being met with an error message instead of a successful action. Spotify has acknowledged that it is aware of both issues, but the company has not given any indication of when a fix might arrive.
The timing looks poor for Spotify. The bugs are popping up just as the company is rolling out a new toggle that allows users to control whether kids and family music shapes personal recommendations. Whether this is technically connected to the bugs remains unconfirmed, but the coincidence does little to inspire confidence in the platform's stability as it pushes out unrelated features.
