A new report states that Bose is planning on launching new Sport Open Earbuds that will feature a clip-on style design. These will reportedly be offered in multiple color combinations and feature IP54 dust and water resistance.

Looks like Bose is bringing back its Sport Open Earbuds that first launched in 2021 but were discontinued a couple of years later. This new 2026 generation of earbuds will come with a complete redesign as well as some key upgrades. While Bose hasn’t officially announced the earbuds yet, the design and features have apparently leaked.

Starting with the design, the Sport Open Earbuds (2026) ditch the loop-style buds for the clip-on form factor while retaining the open-back design. Unlike the more premium Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (Gen 2) (buy on Amazon), these are said to come with a soft, flexible cuffed design as we’ve seen with some other clip-on earbuds. They are said to be IP54 dust- and water-resistant, support SpeechClarity Tech for improved calling, multipoint connectivity, and Google Fast Pair.

As per Roland Quandt, the Sport Open Earbuds will be able to deliver up to seven hours of battery life that drops to four hours if Auto Volume is turned on. The case will also support wireless charging.

There seem to be multiple dual-tone color options, including a black variant, green, grey, and beige. While pricing and availability are unclear, the report adds that these will be cheaper than the Ultra Open Earbuds (Gen 2).
