Fairbuds 2 launch date and price revealed

Fairphone has confirmed the launch date for its second-generation Fairbuds, with the Fairbuds 2 reportedly set to receive a full reveal on October 14. The new wireless earbuds will retain the defining repairability focus of the original model, continuing Fairphone's commitment to modularity.

The company says the Fairbuds 2 will contain seven fully replaceable and modular parts, preserving the repair-oriented design introduced with the first generation. There is also a notable connectivity upgrade, with the new earbuds gaining support for Sony’s high-resolution LDAC Bluetooth codec. The original Fairbuds were limited to the SBC and AAC codecs, putting the successor on stronger technical footing for compatible devices.

Fairphone is expected to initially launch the Fairbuds 2 in Europe on October 14 for €119, representing a lower European launch price than the original Fairbuds, which debuted at €149 in 2024. A US release is expected to follow shortly afterwards at $119, though no exact date has been confirmed. The first-generation model has since fallen to $99.99, so buyers weighing the two will want to compare them carefully.
