Galaxy Buds On design leaks as Samsung prepares first clip-on earbuds

Samsung is preparing new earbuds, and leaks have been circulating for a while. Back in July, it was reported that the clip-on-style earbuds would be called Galaxy Buds Able, but the only design reference was through the code of the Galaxy Wearable app. Later in the same month, a clearer picture surfaced, but now, we have photos of what is said to be the final design, as well as the name.

The information comes via Android Headlines, and it shows a couple of images showcasing the clip-on style earbuds. These will reportedly be called Galaxy Buds On, instead of Galaxy Buds Able. The images show a black colorway, but it is likely that Samsung will offer multiple color options.

As for the design, they look like the EarFun Clip 2 (buy on Amazon), the Baseus Inspire XC1 (buy on Amazon), or the Anker Soundcore AeroClip (buy on Amazon). The Galaxy Buds On earbuds are said to use open-ear air conduction to transmit audio, rather than bone conduction. This means there will be small directional speakers that direct sound and vibrations into the ear canal. This would allow the user to be aware of sounds around them. This also means that noise cancelation will not be possible.

The report adds that the Galaxy Buds On will support certain head gestures to execute some functionality.  For now, that’s about all the information available on the Galaxy Buds On. It should be noted that Samsung has not shared any official information on these, and it is unclear when they will be released.
