Here’s what Samsung’s rumored clip-on earbuds may look like

Samsung is rumored to be working on a pair of Galaxy Buds that ditch the traditional in-ear silicone tips, and leaks give us a clear look at the upcoming device. These new earbuds are likely to be called the "Galaxy Buds On" or "Galaxy Buds Able" and will have an open-ear clip-on design. SamMobile has found the latest images in a Samsung app, giving us our best look at the product so far.

The leaked illustrations show a two-part construction. A rounded inner module rests just outside the ear canal to direct sound waves inward, while a flatter outer module sits behind the ear to anchor the device. The outer section also shows subtle green or gray accents. It's much more likely that the new buds are a standard pair of open-ear air-conduction earbuds, also referred to as Open Wireless Stereo (OWS) earbuds.

This design relies on air conduction rather than bone conduction. It allows users to hear their audio while keeping the ear canal unobstructed, similar to existing products like the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds and Huawei FreeClip. The primary function of this design is to reduce ear fatigue during extended wear and to maintain situational awareness for commuters or runners.

Many expected these earbuds to debut alongside the new Galaxy Fold8 phones at the July Unpacked event. However, since this did not happen, the new buds could make an appearance at the next Samsung launch event, where the Galaxy S26 FE is expected to be announced, in early September.
