Last minute leak reveals Pixel Buds Pro 2 will get a color refresh

There have been a plethora of leaks about the products Google will announce at its Made by Google event on August 12. Interestingly, none has mentioned a new pair of earbuds, and that's because Google doesn't plan to launch one. However, while Google won't be releasing a new pair of earbuds, a leak has revealed that its flagship model, the Pixel Buds Pro 2, will be launching in a new color.

When the Pixel Buds Pro 2 were first announced in 2024, they were available to buy in three colors — Porcelain, Peony, and Hazel. Then in 2025, when Google launched the Pixel Buds 2a, it released the Pixel Buds Pro 2 in a fourth color called Moonstone which matched the main color of the Pixel 10 Pro series.

Now, Roland Quandt has shared leaked marketing materials of the Pixel Buds Pro 2 in a new colorway he says is called Olive. The new color almost matches the Moss color option of the Pixel 11 and the Pine color of the Pixel 11 Pro. Like the other color options, this too has a two-tone paint job. The outer part is olive while the rest of the body is black.

Save for the color change, the features remain the same. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 have ANC, adaptive audio which dynamically adjusts the level of noise in loud environments while still keeping you aware of your environment, spatial audio with head tracking, a Tensor A1 chip for better noise cancellation, Gemini Live, and  30-hour battery life with ANC on.

The new Olive Pixel Buds Pro 2 should also retain the price tag $229, although it remains to be seen if they will be discounted as the other colors are currently available for $189 on Amazon and on the Google Store, albeit for a limited time. So if you don't mind the new color, you can grab any of the older ones.
