Samsung's upcoming earbuds with earhooks want to take on Apple's Powerbeats Pro 2

Samsung is planning to expand its Galaxy Buds line of earbuds. While the standard and pro models should still exist, Samsung is reported to be working on two new additions, one of which will have a clip-on design similar to the Moto Buds Loop. Now, new info has surfaced regarding another pair which will have earhooks akin to Apple's Powerbeats Pro 2.
The new pair of earbuds is reported to be codenamed “Buds Canal 5”, but we expect they will carry the Galaxy Buds prefix when they launch. The earbuds have curved earhooks according to the illustrations that have surfaced, and they should be made from a flexible material.
Unfortunately, the images do not show if these have an in-ear design like the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro or semi-in-ear design like the Galaxy Buds 4. We also can't rule out the possibility of Samsung choosing to release the new earbuds in both designs, with the version with the in-ear design launching as a pro model.
Nevertheless, it is exciting to see Samsung's take on this type of earbuds which are geared towards working out. It remains to see how they will compare to models such as the Nothing Ear (Open) (available on Amazon for $99) and the Powerbeats Pro 2.
The upcoming earbuds don't have a release date yet, but there are speculations they might be released later this year, probably alongside the Galaxy S26 FE and Galaxy Tab S12 series.
