Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra and Flip 8 are seeing stronger-than-expected pre-order demand in South Korea, prompting shipment delays and depleted stock across several configurations. Fold 8 pre-orders are reportedly triple those of its predecessor.

Samsung's newest foldable lineup is off to a stronger start than anticipated. Pre-order stock for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 has already sold out in every color and storage configuration in South Korea, forcing Samsung to push back delivery timelines for customers ordering from this point onward. The company had reportedly stocked around 40% more inventory for the standard Fold 8 compared to the Ultra model, yet demand is still outpacing supply.

Originally slated to begin shipping on August 7, new orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 are now expected to arrive around August 28. The Fold 8 Ultra's 1TB variant faces a similar delay, while new orders for the 512GB model will still ship from August 7. The Z Flip 8 is also affected, with shipments delayed to August 11 or August 18 depending on color choice, and even offline retail pickups have been pushed into September.

Business Post further states that pre-orders for the standard Fold 8 are currently three times higher than for its predecessor, having already reached 80% of the pre-booking volume for the Galaxy S26. A "Double Storage" pre-order promotion is thought to be fueling much of this surge, alongside strong early interest from younger buyers.
