Samsung Galaxy S26 FE disappoints in camera specs leak with tiny sensor

The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE ($649 on Amazon) was released in early September 2025, if Samsung follows a similar schedule this year, the Galaxy S26 FE could be officially unveiled in just a few weeks. Android Authority has now managed to uncover details about the cameras on the next-generation premium mid-range smartphone.

As is almost customary with Samsung, there are hardly any new features. This is quite disappointing, especially with regard to the telephoto camera, which is reportedly equipped, as before, with the tiny 8-megapixel OmniVision OV08A1 sensor in the 1/4.4-inch format. Although details about the lens are not yet known, it’s safe to assume that Samsung will offer a 3x optical zoom, an f/2.4 aperture, and optical image stabilization (OIS), just as it did with the Galaxy S25 FE.

The 50 MP f/1.8 main camera, based on the Samsung Isocell S5KGN3 in the 1/1.57-inch format, is also expected to be carried over unchanged from the previous model. Samsung is reportedly including both a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12 MP selfie camera, though Android Authority has not yet been able to confirm which of these cameras uses the GalaxyCore GC12A2 sensor and which uses the Sony IMX825. 

All in all, no major upgrades are expected in terms of the cameras. And this is despite the fact that the Galaxy S26 FE is expected to be more expensive. In Europe, the 128 GB base model reportedly costs €50 more, or €799. For the 256 GB version, buyers will have to pay as much as €90 more, €899 in total, while the price of the 512 GB top-of-the-line model is expected to rise by €170 to €1,099.
