Sony refreshes popular WH-1000XM6 over-ear wireless headphones globally with new version

At the end of last week, The Walkman Blog claimed that Sony was on the verge of refreshing its WH-1000XM6 headphones for a third time. Without warning, Sony has now done just that to complement the Sand Pink and Sandstone variants that arrived in February and May 2026, respectively (curr. $398 on Amazon).
Specifically, Sony is now selling the WH-1000XM6 in an Olive Gray finish. More green than grey, Olive Gray is available globally. Incidentally, the new release takes the total number of WH-1000XM6 colours to six, after the Midnight Blue, Black and Platinum Silver finishes that have been sold since the WH-1000XM6 debuted in May 2025.
As always, Sony's latest refresh is a visual one, rather than one that introduces any new hardware. As the image below shows, this visual update extends to Sony's official carry case, which has a light green outer and a grey inner. However, Sony continues to bundle a black charging cable.
Additionally, Olive Gray has arrived with the same discount as Sony's previous Sand Pink and Sandstone releases. As a result, Olive Gray is available for $399, down from the $459 that Sony typically charges for the WH-1000XM6. Likewise, the new colourway has reached the Eurozone and the UK for €333 and £349, respectively. Please see Sony's website for more details.
