Sony relaunches WH-1000XM6 over-ear wireless headphones with new version

Sony has just released its long-awaited WF-1000XM6 earbuds globally. Please see our WF-1000XM6 launch article for full details about Sony's latest pair of high-end earbuds. At the same time, the company has also updated its WH-1000XM6 headphones with a new release.
For context, the WH-1000XM6 debuted in May 2025. At the time, Sony launched the headphones in Black, Midnight Blue and Platinum Silver finishes. In effect, these finishes matched those the company offered with the WH-1000XM5 for most of its lifespan. However, the WH-1000XM6 lacked an equivalent to Sony's Smoky Pink refresh of the WH-1000XM5 that landed in September 2024.

Now, Sony has sought to redress this colour option imbalance between the WH-1000XM5 and WH-1000XM6. Arriving almost a year after the latter's initial release, the new colourway has a far deeper pink hue than the Smoky Pink finish in which the WH-1000XM5 remains available. While more obviously pink than Smoky Pink, Sony has sought to offset the new colour's intensity by marketing it as Sand Pink rather than the pure 'Pink' variants of the WH-CH520 or WH-CH720N.
The Sand Pink version of the WH-1000XM6 is available to order from February 12 globally. Priced at £399 in the UK and €369 in the Eurozone, the new finish is functionally identical to its Black, Midnight Blue and Platinum Silver contemporaries. Sony's new colourway has also reached the US for $399.99 where it is available directly or via third parties like Amazon.
