TDM's Neo headphones that transform into a Bluetooth speaker launch on Kickstarter

If you want a pair of headphones that double as a Bluetooth speaker, then the TDM Neo is for you. First showcased at CES 2026, the audio accessory is now available on Kickstarter.
The Neo looks like a regular pair of headphones with a cushioned headband and memory foam cushions. However, the headphones transform into a portable Bluetooth speaker when you twist the earcups in a certain way. This is unlike the JLab Blue XL which is a Bluetooth speaker that looks like giant headphones.
TDM says Neo solves the problem of juggling a pair of headphones and bulky speakers when users want to switch from private listening to shared audio. Interestingly, the twist design isn't only useful for when you want to use the headphones as a speaker, as it also makes it easy to store without taking much space.
The TDM Neo have four 40mm drivers, dual amplifiers, and an adjustable EQ. The headphones also support multiple codecs including SBC, AAC, LC3, MSBC, and CVSD. Weighing 330 grams, other features are Bluetooth 6.0 with support for Bluetooth Multipoint, Google Fast Pair, and Find Me. There's also an aux port and a USB-C port. Unfortunately, there's no ANC, but the spec sheet says there's Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) which works with the four microphones for clear calls.
The headphones have a battery life of over 200 hours, but that drops to about 8 hours when in speaker mode. There's fast charging support as a 5-minute charge will translate to 8 hours of playback in headphones mode. TDM says the battery is user-replaceable and users can also replace the earcups when they are worn out.
The TDM Neo can be pre-ordered on Kickstarter for a super early bird price of $189, a significant discount from the $249 retail price. As of the time of writing, TDM has received over $79,000 from backers, several times more than its $10,000 goal. Shipping is reported to be scheduled for July 2026.
