$10 indie game bundle with 100+ games raises over $100,000 in just three days to help developers who lost their jobs

The gaming industry has seen multiple rounds of layoffs this year, leaving thousands of developers without jobs. To help those affected, a group of indie game creators has come together to launch a special bundle, giving players the chance to grab a huge collection of games while supporting developers in need.

According to Necrosoft Games director Brandon Sheffield, the bundle was created on itch.io to raise money for the Game Industry Hardship Fund, which provides financial support to game developers in North America who have lost their jobs.

The Game Industry Hardship Fund bundle includes 127 indie games with a combined value of more than $1,000, but it costs just $10. Buyers are free to contribute more if they wish, with all extra payments going toward the fundraiser. At the time of writing, the average contribution sits at $13.93, while the highest single donation has reached an impressive $2,000.

The response from the gaming community has been strong. Just three days after launching, the bundle has already raised more than $100,000, allowing it to hit its original fundraising goal much earlier than expected. Because of the overwhelming support, the organizers have now increased the target to $200,000.

The bundle will remain available for another 10 days (from the time of writing), giving more people the chance to pick up over 100 indie games at a huge discount while contributing to a good cause. If donations continue at the current pace, there's a good chance the new fundraising goal will also be reached before the campaign ends.
