The Moto Buds Loop are Motorola's first pair of open-ear earbuds with features such as Sound by Bose, spatial audio, and a battery life of up to 8 hours. It also comes in a variant with Swarovski crystals that cost more than a pair of AirPods Pro 2.
Motorola has jumped on the open-ear earbuds bandwagon with the launch of the Moto Buds Loop. Just as it did with the Moto Buds+ (available on Amazon for $130), the Buds Loop earbuds feature Sound by Bose technology.
The Moto Buds Loop are available in two colors - Pantone Trekking Green and Pantone French Oak. The latter is adorned with Swarovski crystals, allowing the earbuds to double as jewelry. Motorola claims the earbuds are made from premium materials that are durable and can survive the wear and tear from everyday use. They also have a water-repellent coating that protects them from sweat and rain.
Motorola says each earbud has a 12mm ironless driver, and combined with Sound by Bose technology should result in audio with exceptional clarity and balance. The earbuds also have spatial sound technology as well as a dual-microphone system that works with a feature called CrystalTalk AI for clear calls and minimal background noise.
The Moto Buds Loop also comes in Pantone Trekking Green (L) which is much cheaper than the Swarovski edition. (Image source: Motorola)
While the Moto Buds Loop works with any Bluetooth-enabled device, there are extra features when connected to a Motorola phone or Lenovo computer. Users of a Motorola smartphone will be able to activate Moto AI actions using the earbuds while a feature called Smart Connect allows users seamlessly switch between Motorola and Lenovo devices.
The Moto Buds Loop earbuds have a battery life of 8 hours on a single charge and a total of 37 hours with the case which charges via a USB-C port. There's also quick charge as 10-minutes of charging will provide 3 hours of use.
Motorola will sell the Moto Buds Loop in various markets. In the UK, the Trekking Green variant of the earbuds will cost £129.99 while the French Oak version with Swarovski crystals will sell for £249.99 (around $333), nearly double the price of the former. There's no pricing info for Europe and North America yet but Motorola has confirmed the earbuds will be sold in these regions. In North America, it will be available later this year.
