The Powerbeats Pro 2 was announced in February 2025 as a successor to the original that was released in 2019. The new pair of earbuds bring several upgrades and the same $249.99 price tag of the previous generation, but thanks to an on-going sale across several retailers, the earbuds can now be purchased for significantly less.
Both Amazon and Best Buy have knocked 20% off the Powerbeats Pro 2's launch price, bringing it down to $199.95 from $249.95 on Amazon and down to 199.99 from $249.99 on Best Buy. Unlike some deals which are usually limited to select colors, the price cut applies to all four colors of the Powerbeats Pro 2.
The Powerbeats Pro 2 is targeted at those who want a pair of great earbuds for working out, and it serves that purpose amazingly well. Each earbud has a hook to keep it from falling off. They are also rated IPX4 for protection against sweat and water splashes. Beats has also made the earbuds considerably lighter than the 2019 edition and even added a heart rate sensor that tracks a user's heart rate during workouts. The earbuds come in a more compact case with support for USB-C and wireless charging.
The Powerbeats Pro 2 has active noise cancellation (ANC), a transparency mode, adaptive EQ, and spatial audio with dynamic tracking. It also has the same Apple H2 chip inside the AirPods Pro 2 which brings better noise cancellation, lossless audio, and an improvement in battery life. The earbuds have a battery life of 8 hours (10 hours with ANC off) and a total of 45 hours with the case (36 hours with ANC on). They are also designed to work with both iOS and Android devices, although Android users will need to install the Beats app.
