Fans of Motorola's Moto G number series may be looking forward to the Moto G86, but a leak says there's a higher-end model in development too. This new phone is reported to be the Moto G96, and it may be the new king of the Moto G number series.

Fresh off announcing the Moto Edge 60 and Razr 60 series, Motorola appears to have turned its focus to its mid-range Moto G number series. Last month, a leak revealed the design of the upcoming Moto G86, which should be the highest model in the series. However, new info has surfaced revealing there's a new Moto G phone coming, one that should sit above the Moto G86.

According to a post on X by Evan Blass (@evelaks), Motorola has a new phone in the pipeline called the Moto G96. While no info about the phone's features and specifications were revealed, its name points at it being a superior device to the Moto G86 which is yet to be released.

Based on the lack of information, it is impossible to say what the Moto G96 will look like, what features it will have, and when it will be announced. Nevertheless, one thing that seems certain is that it most likely won't be sold in the US seeing as the Moto G number series are not usually officially announced for the US market, at least not since the Moto G100 released in 2021.

The Moto G86, on the other hand, may arrive in June considering its predecessor, the Moto G85 (available on Amazon for $269.99) was announced in June 2024.
