The Call of Duty 2025 battle pass may demand a larger financial commitment from players. A new leak suggests that some modes and cosmetics are only accessible through purchases. With a potential $80 price, Call of Duty Black Ops 7 could quickly drain bank accounts.

While battle passes can be controversial, most allow players to earn rewards through gameplay. However, when features require money to unlock, that sets a dangerous precedent for many gamers. According to TheGhostOfHope, Call of Duty 2025 will change how its battle pass system works. The Call of Duty leaker expects that Activision will hide some limited-time modes, skins, and other items behind a paywall.

TheGhostOfHope has a reliable history as a Call of Duty insider. If his latest prediction is accurate, Call of Duty 2025, also known as Black Ops 7, will offer more seasonal LTMs. These modes would introduce challenges and fresh ways to play the first-person shooter. Success would lead to Call of Duty skins and loot that are unavailable without paying for the battle pass. No amount of grinding could give players access to the higher tier of benefits.

Microsoft recently announced price hikes on its Xbox consoles and revealed that first-party games would be more expensive. After the Activision Blizzard acquisition, the Call of Duty series plays a prominent role in Microsoft's portfolio. Some analysts expect the standard version of the title could cost at least $80. Battle pass costs would only add to the financial burden. As a likely day-one Xbox Game Pass game, the upcoming shooter will drive more subscriptions. Still, unless economic conditions change, Game Pass could also suffer price increases.

Activision has yet to officially announce Call of Duty 2025 or its release date. Even so, it has become a yearly release for the publisher. Insider Gaming believes the next version will follow up on the 2012 Black Ops 2. With a futuristic 2030s setting, the game could offer a four-player co-op mode and pack 64 players on multiplayer maps. Zombies could also return to play a prominent role in Black Ops 7.

As exciting as some changes sound, it's now debatable what Call of Duty 2025 options will be part of a paid battle pass.
